CREATION OR EVOLUTION

Charles Darwin (1809-1882) and others developed the theory of evolution from their observation of living creatures. Their conclusion was that man with other animals had evolved from a common gene, through evolution from various stages of biological development. In their view, briefly, man for example evolved through a reptile form, subsequently to a four footed, through monkey form to legged monkey form then to our present stage. It argues that evolution is still taking place. (I guess the black race is agreed to be in a lower stage of the of the evolution scale than the white race and the white race being the most advanced stage). Evolution continues they say.

One of the proofs of God as The Creator, apart from his revelation to his Prophets are unblockable loopholes many investigators have found in the evolution theory. Investigators put it that taking the age of the universe into consideration, the argument in support of evolution cannot even take off. It is dead before it starts. It has been calculated that the world is about two thousand million years old. The opponents of evolution argue that this age of the earth is too short to accommodate the evolutionary process theorized by Darwin et al. This, because it has been shown that for just one molecule of protein to evolve it needs millions and millions of years and considering the so many different forms of life on our world alone, with the vegetable kingdom alone having more than a hundred thousand KNOWN species (there are many more still unknown, and new species are found everyday), it makes it too short for even the lowest animal on the evolution scale to develop. Sir Fred Hoyle again supports the fallacy of evolution saying:

“Imagine a blind fellow trying to solve the Rubik cube. The chance against achieving a perfect colour matching is about 50,000,000,000,000,000,000 times to 1. These odds are roughly the same as those against just one of our body's 200,000 proteins having evolved randomly, by chance”.

So imagine that whole of life – man, animals, birds, flora and fauna in sea, insects and all its species, came by chance, how much time would it take to happen: The theory of evolution falls flat on this reasoning.

Finally, In the Book Man does not stand alone, A. Cassey Morrison points out that:

“So many essential conditions are necessary for life to exist on our earth that it is mathematically impossible that all of them could exist in proper relationship by chance on any one earth or at one time. Therefore there must be in nature some form of intelligent direction. If this is true, then there must be a purpose”

Scientists, no doubt we owe them a lot, but they should not fear the idea of a living God who created them. Many Scientists are afraid to admit that there is a living God who created and sustain this universe, so they invest their time energy and resources to prove that there is no God. But this only throws them into a conundrum they cannot get themselves out of. All efforts to disprove the presence of God will fail.

Viewing the universe and for that matter the world we live in, there is an exhibition of meaning and purpose to the highest order in everything that we see or feel, all elements match and fit in a perfect jigsaw towards the sustenance of the universe and the world. A universe that came by blind chance, as we are made to believe by some scientist cannot have this perfect balance and organization that we know about in the universe. It simply will be meaningless and the universe and the world as we see it is not a heap of non-sense. It has purpose and meaning to the minutest detail. It has been designed to be so. And if there is a design, there must be a designer!, And that is GOD. The Qur'aan replies them on such flawed thinking by saying: ” And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them in vain . That is the opinion of those who disbelieve.” Sura 38-Rome

We all know that scientific theories are frequently revisited and previously unresolved issues are resolved and the theory undergoes a change. Sometimes there are even paradigm shifts and even the underlying basic assumptions are changed. Major issues as the origin of the universe, how life began, and even relatively recent issues such as global warming are some of the issues that are constantly being studied and prone to revision as Scientists improve their investigations. If these investigations are focused on the discovery of no-God, then it will be a waste of time, energy and resources because they will keep on investigating and revising in a cycle like a merry go round. They cannot come out with anything concrete to proof themselves except ad-hoc speculations based on formulae customized for the purpose. This will then fall flat as time goes on.

Only last week July 2012, we read the following:
New theory on the source of Earth's water

Scientists contradict earlier beliefs about the planet's key element coming from the outer solar system. The article goes on to say “ The results contradict prevailing theories, which hold that most of our planet's water originated in the outer solar system and was delivered by comets or asteroids that coalesced beyond Jupiter's orbit, then migrated inward.

"Our results provide important new constraints for the origin of volatiles in the inner solar system, including the Earth," lead author Conel Alexander, of the Carnegie Institution of Washington, said in a statement. "And they have important implications for the current models of the formation and orbital evolution of the planets and smaller objects in our solar system."

Famous Scientists like Albert Einstein first believed that the Universe was static and even proved their argument with calculation. This was later found to be untrue.

Isaac Newton also thought that light was made up of particles, and this was accepted for hundreds of years, until it was disproved by Young, who proved that light was made of waves and not the corpuscular theory advanced by the “mighty Newton”.

The principle of cause and effect which was theorized by Newton and some Scientists supposedly eliminated the idea of God, but the coming of theory of Quantum Mechanics, negated their earlier findings.

The examples above goes to explain the maze Scientists will find themselves in if they invest their time on disproving the obvious – The Presence of God. On the contrary, Scientist should be on the vanguard in knowing God. Their knowledge of the universe cannot exceed maybe 2% of what is unknown. 2% may even too much. Their frequent going back to the drawing board points to one thing that no matter how they fine tune their tools and observations, all things point to one thing – GOD. This should lead them to increase their belief in the ALMIGHTY, because they get to encounter more and more wonders which they cannot surmount. Every step leads to bigger and more perplexing riddles. It is like falling in a quicksand. The more you struggle the further you sink.

A Scientist seeking God in his works will have s stronger faith than an ordinary human being because he gets to know his creator and lives in love for him seeking his pleasure and in awe of His powers thus avoiding what will displease Him. That is why the Quran says in 35- Fatir:27-28 . Hast thou not seen that Allah sends down rain from the sky?...... Those who truly fear Allah among his servants are those who have knowledge”.

God did not just make creation and sit back. To help us he sent us prophets from among ourselves to guide us to him. To help the Prophets he gave them revelations showing his signs Some of these revelations imply scientific positions, pointing out facts in nature and throwing challenges to man to respond. These scientific statements are in geology, biology, embryological science, diet and even in physics. Some of the statements provoke the intellectual curiosity such as Chapter 13- Thunder verse 4, talking about the taste of different plants says “…watered with same water yet some of them we make more preferable to some in taste”. This verse states a problem in chemistry. When we speak about emerging problems, sudden climatic changes and pollution, the Quran has this to say. Sura 30- Rome:41 . Mischief has appeared on land and sea because of ( the evil ) which men ' s hands have earned, that He (Allah) may give them a taste a part of that which they have done , in order that they may return from Evil.

Sura 30-Rome:22 . And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth , and the difference of your languages and colors . Lo! herein indeed are portents for men of knowledge .
