Christian and other religious organizations are being enjoined to institutionalize the lending a hand to the underprivileged in society.
This regular practice, according to the Associate Pastor of Winning House Chapel International in Kumasi, will support the government's effort at alleviating poverty.
Rev. Eric Kwadwo Owusu-Ansah says charitable activities are mandatory for the fulfillment of scripture and the command of Jesus Christ.
He therefore wants the various councils of churches to fashion out an arrangement for churches to commit to charity.
“I think that Churches are doing well but there is more room for improvement; we can do more than what we've done, so it will not be bad if Ghana Pentecostal Council can take it up, it Charismatic Churches Association can take it up and make it a policy for churches under these organizations for something to be given to the orphanages”, he suggested.
Rev. Owusu-Ansah spoke to Luv News when the Chapel reached out to the Kumasi Children's Home with foodstuff and other items as part of the Chapel's 5th anniversary.
According to him, the church should make the act of giving a regular exercise to ensure the proper upkeep of the underprivileged in society.
