Accra, July 5, GNA – Top Herbal Clinic, a leading herbal medicare outfit, has offered free health screening against Hepatitis-B for about 200 people at Agbogba near Haatso in the Greater Accra Region.
Mr George Amissah, a Biomedical Scientist in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said the screening for diseases formed part of the corporate social responsibilities of the health facility and to create Hepatitis-B awareness which is spreading at a very alarming rate in the country.
According to Mr Amissah, the Hepatitis-B is easily transmitted from one person to the other and that the symptoms of the ailment are not immediately detected until the infection has completely damaged the whole body system.
Therefore; “one needs to take health screening very seriously for the early detection,” he advised.
Mr Amissah said the clinic offered a similar screening last year against sickle cell anaemia and haemoglobin.
He advised Ghanaians to exercise regularly and also stick to healthy lifestyles by eating much fruits and vegetables.
