Another flood light stadium fiasco has hit the country, this time at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The flood lights went off, albeit for a short moment, during the Jones Attuquayefio Charity Match, Friday.
Joy Sports' Nathaniel Attoh said the lights went off for five minutes and came back by itself.
No explanation has yet been given.
For the short period the lights went off, players of the Black Stars select side and the Attuquayefio select team were seen chatting on the field.
Fans at the VIP were heard chanting "heads will roll", Attoh reported, bringing memories of a similar flood lights fiasco which happened at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium during a World Cup Qualifier between the Black Stars of Ghana and Lesotho.
The Stars were leading by 4-0 in the second half when the lights went off.
It took nearly 90 minutes for the lights to be restored and the game continued.
But prior to restoration, Director of communications at the Presidency Koku Anyidoho issued a statement on behalf of the president dismissing the head of the Ashanti Region Electricity Company of Ghana.
It later turned out the directive was not from the president, a fact Anyidoho admitted to, and took responsibility for the statement.
A committee instituted to investigate the cause of the flood light failure has presented its findings to the Sports Ministry.
But barely before the recommendations of the committee will be implemented another fiasco has happened even if it went off for a short period.
It is not clear what action will be taken to avert the re-occurrence of these failures.
