LYON, France (AFP) - Congolese international midfielder Delvin Ndinga has agreed a deal to join ambitious Ligue 2 side Monaco from Auxerre, the selling club confirmed on Friday.

The transfer fee was not revealed but reports put it in the region of three million euros ($3.7m), a sum that will help Auxerre, who are experiencing serious financial difficulties after being relegated to the second tier at the end of last season.

Monaco, one of French football's most celebrated clubs, are preparing for a second consecutive season in the second division, but the wealth of Russian billionaire owner Dmitry Rybolovlev has transformed them into one of the country's most ambitious clubs.

Italian former Chelsea, Roma and Inter Milan boss Claudio Ranieri was appointed coach last month and the signing of Ndinga follows that of Danish international midfielder Jakob Poulsen, who moved to the principality after his country's exit from Euro 2012.
