President Mills has arrived from a 'routine medical check-up' trip in the US. He has been away for close to nine days (June 16 -25) in a trip that has been characterized by a lot of political uproar.
He was met on arrival by all the Ministers of State at the Kotoka International Airport on Monday afternoon. Among the dignitaries was the flagbearer of the opposition People's National Convention (PNC), Hassan Ayariga, who said he was there to welcome the President to show how far Ghana's democracy has deepened.
In a brief address to dozens of National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters who thronged the airport, President Mills said he has returned with more energy to work.
'I have a message. The energy that I have is strong enough… and therefore I will drive from here to the Castle to continue my work,' President Mills said.
'We should all work together because we in the NDC have work to do. God is in control.'
