The Spokesperson for the Operation Save the Suffering Masses (OSSM), a pressure group in Kumasi , Nana Akwasi Kwarteng has stated that, the return of the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) which broke away from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) was much anticipated.
“The comeback was expected and it was a matter of course”, Nana Kwarteng said.
According to him it was good that the DFP which was headed by Dr. Obed Yao Asamoah has formalized its return to their mother party (NDC). He hoped that its members would follow suit.
Nana Kwarteng, also a human rights activist noted that, because the NDC is a free democratic party in the country without any history of manipulation in terms of leadership, more people apart from members of the DFP, would come to join and make it to the December elections.
“Those who were one way or the other feeling ashamed to join the NDC will now feel free to join it”. He stressed in an exclusive interview with this paper.
Nana Akwasi Kwarteng, who is also a businessman and politician was however quick to point out that, the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), is at the moment facing internal problems as Alan Kyeremateng's following are not helping the Nana Akuffo Addo campaign .
He said, unlike the NPP, all groups are now coming on board to help the party win the December 2012 elections.
“Parties are counted by numbers, therefore the NDC stands tall in winning”, he indicated and called on floating voters and all those who have not yet decided, to join the NDC.
