Essipon (W/R), June 16, GNA – Mr. Paul Evans Aidoo, Western Regional Minister, said that the National Democratic Congress Government believes that power belongs to the people, who choose their leaders.
He said the Government was committed to properly managing national resources to promote the welfare and development of the people.
Mr Aidoo said these in a speech read on his behalf by Madam Emelia Arthur, the Deputy Regional
Minister, at the closing session of the Regional Policy Fair at Essipon, in the Western Region.
He said the fair has demonstrated fairness in resource allocation to all districts of the country, and their equitable utilization through projects that assemblies had executed within the short period of the Government.
Mr. Aidoo said the opening up of state agencies to public enquiry and scrutiny was aimed at ensuring accountability and
transparency in the management of resources.
He asked the Metrpolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to continue to be fair in project allocation so that no group would feel cheated or marginalized.
Mr. Aidoo said the fair showcased the achievements of the Government in the implementation of well-designed and though through policies.
He expressed the hope that misconceptions have been cleared and knowledge of MMDAs, and Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) activities had increased through the exhibitions and dialogue sessions delivered by experts.
Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi 11, Omanhene of Anhwiaso, appealed to the Government to pay more attention on the region and put its road network in good condition.
He asked MMDAs and MDAs to showcase their projects at state functions and at their own events.
