POETS SHARING MORE THAN POEMS ONLINE

By HL Hunter

Windham, CT June 27, 2011 -- OpenMicVoices.com, the internet's foremost social website for Poets, fans of Poetry, and venues for Poetry,

debuted February 1, 2012, among a small group of poet friends. Today, registered members represent over 40 countries. The exciting surprise

is that members are doing more than simply posting poems, they're building friendships, through the commonality of Poetry.

"People quickly realize we're more than a website to submit Poetry and leave," said Henry Hunter, Co-Creator of OpenMicVoices.com. "Open Mic Voices

is about uniting good people, from all over the world, who speak, or enjoy, one language: Poetry. There's no restrictions on who members may

befriend and that has resulted in members interacting and meeting new people from all over the world, through a common interest, which is Poetry."

Open Mic Voices is all inclusive, members range from Ivy League grads and professors to high school dropouts; from published poets to novice poets;

and from every style and type of Poetry. Members can upload their Poetry audio, photos and video, create events, opine in the forum, and use the free

instant live video chat to have more meaningful interaction with other members, or groups.

“The website is only 120 days old. We feel good about getting the word out, because we have had such a positive response. Our Google Analytics

reveal a good percentage of our members spend hours on the site. The 'average' member spends 16 minutes on the site. Published poets and non-published

poets are digging in those old notebooks and posting their older poems and creating new Poetry. Fans of Poetry are connecting and giving their feedback.

Venues and members are sharing know-how and locations where to read one's Poetry, or enjoy hearing it. Open Mic Voices is a new good. It's amazing.”
