Mr. Hayssam Fakhry, Managing Director of INTERPLAST (GH) LTD and Honorary Consul of the Republic of Djibouti has told The Al-Hajj that the giant INESFLY INSECTICIDE PAINT PLANT which INESFLY AFRICA the parent company is currently constructing in Ghana would turn out its maiden products in the first quarter of 2013 as mentioned during the media launch of the company and its prime product in Accra last December.

Mr. Fakhry made this disclosure when this paper followed up to ascertain progress made so far on the project and the possibility of its management making good their pledge to hit the market by the first quarter of 2013.

Mr. Fakhry who is also a principle partner of the company-INESFLY AFRICA also told The Al-Hajj that the execution of the project is in collaboration with the biggest pharmaceutical concern globally- PHARMACEUTICAL PRAXIS GROUP.

He indicated that the company has set up its offices and refurbished warehouses on the former factory premises of INTERPLAST in Accra and constructed a modern laboratory equipped with the latest industrial laboratory equipment for quality control and research purposes.

He was emphatic that equipment and machinery have been imported and are currently awaiting installation on completion of the factory buildings.

He explained that in preparation for the take-off, INESFLY AFRICA has sponsored Ghanaian engineers, technicians, pharmacists, chemists and bio-chemists to undergo specialized training abroad, adding that “they would constitute the core technical staff”.

He explained further that when in full production, INESFLY AFRICA would offer employment to approximately 1,500 Ghanaians in all categories of the company's operations and about 40 expatriates adding that, the project will also facilitate technology transfer and introduction of skills required in the specialized pharmaceutical industry to locals who would ultimately man the project.

Mr. Fakhry intimated that the company is currently working on consolidating raw materials sources by engaging in high level talks and consultations and also discussing and consulting on sustainable project funding with both local and foreign banks due to the enormity of the project.

He expressed optimism that financial institutions the company is in touch with would provide the necessary funding support “since they see the project as extremely viable and would yield substantial dividends”.

Regarding price of the INESFLY PAINT, he noted that the price would be affordable weighed against the toll that the target disease –MALARIA takes on humans in Africa and particularly West Africa.

He said with the use of INESFLY PAINT painting rooms and walls in homes, hospitals, work places etc MALARIA caused by mosquitoes would be eradicated in no time.

This, according to him, would in turn “promote health of the workforce, increase man-hours on the job and increase productivity in industry and other ventures”.

On quality and certification of the product, he indicated that it has been subjected to investigation for efficiency results and toxicological reports which demonstrate the harmless nature of the product to humans. He added that it is capable of 'controlling and eventually eradicate MALARIA since it has vectoral and clinical control attributes”.

He said the paint is certified by the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) and won the recognition and recommendation of the WHO and the Ministry of Health (MOH) adding that it destroys all insects found in homes, and remains active for a minimum of three years.

On orders prior to production of the paint in Ghana, Mr. Fakhry indicated that institutions, wholesalers and other sales and distribution firms who require INESFLY PAINT could contact Interplast (Gh) Ltd for orders to be placed from Spain.

Mr. Fakhry hinted that the establishment of the company is coming with a Foundation – “Science and Knowledge in Action Foundation” to handle Corporate Responsibility issues including scholarships for science education for deserving Ghanaian students.

INESFLY PAINT was invented by a Spanish Chemistry doctor, Dr. Pilar Mateo Herrero and functions with polymeric encapsulation by gradual release. It has a casing of carbonates and titanium bioxide pigments alongside IGRS in paint formulate.

“This invention has come when other pyrethroids-insecticides have lost potency”, Mr. Fakhry concluded.
