The Progressive People's Party (PPP) begins another round of nationwide tour in the Western, Brong Ahafo, Ashanti and Northern Regions. In the Western Region, this would be the party's third visit and the second tour of the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo and Northern Regions.

The tour is led by Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, the party's flag bearer. Others making the trip are National Vice Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Baba Seidu; National Secretary, Kofi Asamoah-Siaw; National Committee Member, Mrs Mary Ankomah Boakye-Boatengg; deputy Communication Director, Samuel Ampah, and; other regional and constituency executives.

The party begins the two-day tour of the Western Region today with visits to Enchi, Dadieso and Akontombra and continues tomorrow June 9th, 2012 to Sehwi Wiaso and Bibiani all in the Northern parts of the region. The party will then continue with the tour of Brong Ahafo, Ashanti and Northern Regions from June 11-14.

In the Brong Ahafo Region, Dr Nduom and his entourage will visit Dormaa East and West; Asunafo East and West; Asutifi East and West, Jaman South and Berekum. In the case of the Ashanti Region, the group will visit Bekwai, Obuasi, Fomena, Adansi Asokwa and New Edubiase.

The party is expected to continue with its community-based campaign during the tour of the four regions. As part of the community-based campaign, the party leadership would be addressing farmers, drivers, artisans, market women, students, town-hall meetings, opinion leaders and other identifiable groups.

The party would be sharing its ten-point agenda with the people during the tour. These include a PPP administration that will ensure an incorruptible government; a clean environment that will help eradicate preventable diseases like cholera and malaria etc; the creation of jobs etc.

Dr Nduom and his group will also be visiting traditional authorities during the tour. The community based campaign was launched at a mammoth rally at Elmina in the Komenda-Edina Eguafo-Abrem Constituency of the Central Region last week.

The party immediately put the grass-roots campaign in motion at a well-attended mini-rally at Cape Coast, the Central Regional capital, a day after the Elmina launch.
