
Tarkwa, June 7, GNA - Gold Fields Ghana Limited (GFGL), Tarkwa mine, has celebrated this year's World Environment Day on the theme: “Green Economy-does it include you ?'', at Tarkwa.
The event that is essentially aimed at creating awareness on proper management of natural resources, brought together stakeholders in the environmental sector, pupils from Goldfields School complex and members of keep fit clubs in the area.
Addressing participants, Mr. George Nutor, acting General Manager of GFGL, Tarkwa mine, said the company was currently nursing 200,000 tree seedlings for planting on its reclaimed sites, residential areas and some selected communities, this year.
Mr. Nutor said the company would imitate more measures to protect the country's natural resources for the benefit of the future generations
The General Manager accompanied by officials from the Environmental Protection Agency inspected trees which were planted by the company over the years.

Opon all this wealth Ghana dont have even common railways from Accra to Kumasi,and from Kumasi to Navrongo,what a shame that Rawlings and NDC can boast of ruling Ghana for 23 years,It is a shame to them and Ghana the whole.
