Patrick Akorli has been appointed the new managing director of Goil. Until his appointment, Patrick Akorli was the Finance Manager at the Oil Company. He has served with Goil for the last 18 years rising through the ranks and serving as Chief Accountant and Chief Internal Auditor at different times. Patrick takes over Goil at a time when competition in the sector is at an all time high, with various oil companies churning out specialized fuels to increase their market share. Speaking in an interview with Joy Business Patrick Akorli says his aim among others will be to pioneer Goils' expansion into the West African Oil market.
He explains "We have several ideas.We are transforming Goil from a purely petroleum firm to and energy company-the reason why we changed our logo to reflect this new direction.We will push ahead with the re-branding,expand our retail outlets and enter new markets including aviation and bunkering.We also intend to tap into the upstream sector of the Ghana's Oil sector"
