Korle-Bu junior doctors ignore calls to end strike

Junior doctors at the Korle-Bu teaching Hospital are not calling off their strike, having met the management and the leadership of the Hospital, Thursday.

According to the doctors the meeting was fruitful.
The doctors declared the strike last night back demands for improved security following the mysterious death of their colleague,Desmond Kabah on Sunday.

Preliminary autopsy report reveals there was no violent attack. Authorities of the facility called a closed door meeting to try and get the doctors to return to work, but failed.

Chairman of the striking junior doctors Dr. Titus Tibire, who spoke to Joy News said although the meeting was a fruitful one, there some issues which should be addressed before they return to the hospital wards.

Meanwhile police in Accra have arrested 32 squatters at the Hospital premises as part of measures to improve security.
