Nyinahin (Ash), May 31, GNA - Nana Owusu Annin II, 49, has been installed chief of Atwima-Takoradi, near Nyinahin, in the Atwima-Mponua District, amidst fanfare and spectacular cultural display.
The new chief, who is known in private life as Mr Owusu Panin, succeeds his late uncle, Nana Akwasi Annin, who died two years ago.
Swearing the oath of allegiance to the Nyinahinhene, Nana Amanpene Boateng Twum II, Nana Annin pledged to lead the people for development, and uphold the cultural heritage and tradition of the town.
Nana Boateng-Twum advised Nana Annin to be humble honest, transparent and accountable to the people, to have the support and loyalty.
Mallam Abdulai Yakubu, the new Zongo Chief of Nyinahin was introduced to Nana Boateng-Twum.
Mallam Yakubu advised the Zongo youth not to become pawns of self-seeking politicians and undermine peace instead they should channel their energies into productive ventures.
