ABIDJAN (AFP) - Ex-France international Sabri Lamouchi was on Monday named the new coach of the Ivory Coast, taking over from Francois Zahoui who was sacked.
It is the first coaching job for the 40-year-old Lamouchi, who won 12 caps for France between 1996-2000 as a midfielder.
Lamouchi's immediate demands will be to ensure Ivory Coast qualify for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa, with a further eye on qualification for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
