Black Stars defender Jerry Akaminko says the team is capable of winning the next nation's cup.
The Turkey-based defender is one of 30-players called up for next month's 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
Akaminko, who was a studio guest on the May 26 edition of the Joy Sports Link said “we have a good team and every player is performing greatly at training so we have the capability of winning the nation's cup.”
Akaminko, who is also receiving his maiden call-up for the Black Stars, said there is a great mood in camp ahead of these two crucial games which is very healthy for the team's ambitions.
“The mood in camp so far is great and my team mates and I have been saying many words of encouragement to each other which is a good thing,” he said.
The Maniaspor defender also sees the Black Stars doing very well under the management of Coach Kwasi Appiah.
“I can imagine how tough it will be for Coach Kwasi Appiah when he has to select the final 23-man squad for the two big games. I see all the players giving off their best at training,” he told the Joy Sports Link.
The former Heart of Lions player featured 27 times for Maniaspor this season and managed a 17th place finish in the Turkish league.
The 24-year-old player also featured for another Turkish side Orduspor between 2008 and 2011 where he made 81 appearances.
