2 Africans Win Miss Global Africa Pageant In The United States

When the Ghanaian footbal star, Asamoah Gyan sang in Castro's hit track African Girls ( Ghana Girls), he was not mincing words in his holistic desrciption of the true beauty of the African woman and for that matter the Ghanaian: In far away New York City in a report filled by our NY based correspondent and media executive, Daasebre Adansi-Prekese Akyampong, 2 African ladies have distinguished themselves as the winner and 1st runner up ( 2nd) in a special beauty pageant, MISS GLOBAL AFRICA.

Miss Guinea, Bernadette Sylla won the pageant recently held at Stepping Out Studios in Manhattan, New York. Miss Ghana, Deborah Brenyah, a Junior at the New York's prestigious charter school, Facing History School, where another Ghanaian is a Multicultural Educator at the school, was the 1st runner-up.

Deborah Brenyah, in an exclusive interview said, she performed Azonto and Adowa which the audience loved.

The competition was among 13 contestants representing Senegal, Gambia, Guinea, Ghana, St Vincent, USA, Cameroon, Congo, Brazzaville, Congo DRC, Central Republic of Africa, Togo, Nigeria and Antigua & Barbuda.

They competed in swimsuit, performing talent and interview segments.

The pageant is put on by UNESCO, which is geared towards bringing together African countries and African diaspora and displaying those cultures.
