Taaho (B/A), May 24, GNA – A two-classroom block with an office and store for the local kindergarten, estimated at about GH¢12,000, has been inaugurated at Taaho, a settler farming community in Nkoranza North District of Brong-Ahafo Region.
The project was funded by Major (rtd) Derek Oduro, Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkoranza North who inaugurated the block and also supplied school uniforms to 70 children.
He urged the parents to enrol their children in the school to prepare them adequately for basic level education.
The MP called on members of the Unit Committee in the area to visit the school regularly to help tidy up the compound and ensure proper maintenance of the building for its longer lifespan.
Mr James Appiah-Kubi, Nkoranza North District Director of Education, praised Major Oduro for his efforts in promoting education in the area and commended his commitment to the development of the area.
He promised to post teachers to run the school and advised the community leaders to arrange for accommodation for them to sustain their interest in the community.
The District Director urged the people to ensure that the children took good care of all school materials.
The regent of Taaho, Mallam Alhassan Yakubu, commended the MP for providing the facility and appealed to him to help provide furniture for the classrooms.
