Donkorkrom (E/R), May 24, GNA - Mr Victor Smith, the Eastern Regional Minister, has expressed worry over the slow pace of work by contractors on government projects.
He said the attitude of some contractors to delay work on government projects tended to undermine efforts of the government to fulfill its campaign promises to the people.
Mr Smith expressed the concern when he inspected work on the Donkorkrom Agricultural Senior High School (SHS) boys' dormitory block in the Kwahu North District.
Construction works on the dormitory block expected to be completed in November last year, had been abandoned by the contractor.
Mr Smith warned that contractors who delayed projects would have their contracts terminated and given to more serious contractors and urged contractors to do away with selfish interests.
Mr Smith met District Heads of Departments where he urged them to always aim at maximizing productivity.
He advised them not to disrespect rules and regulations of their work.
The Regional Minister later paid a courtesy call on the chiefs and opinion leaders of Donkorkrom.
He also inspected the Kodidi Feeder Road and the maternity block complex at the Presbyterian hospital.
