Takoradi, May 18, GNA- Erzuah Asare, a steel bender, on Friday, appeared before a Takoradi Circuit for steeling quantities of cement belonging to his employer.
He pleaded not guilty and would reappear in court on May 28, for further hearing.
Presenting the facts of the case, Inspector Seth Ahelegbe told the court presided over Mr Charles Bamford Nimako that the complainant Madam Edith Bagomiah is a civil servant.
He said in March Madam Bagoniah employed Erzuah as a sales manager to sell her cement products at Apowa in the Ahanta West District.
The prosecutor said on March 20, Madam Bagoniah detected the loss of 58 cement valued at GH¢1,044.00 from the shop and asked Erzuah about the where about of the products.
The accused admitted having stolen the cement and promised to refund the money.
However, upon persistent demand, the accused failed to refund the money and the complainant reported the matter to the police.
The accused was arrested and upon interrogation admitted stealing the cement in his caution statement.
