
Akim Oda (E/R), May 17, GNA – A 37-year-old rice and beans seller, Amma Agyepomaa who punched the mouth of another trader, has been fined GHc50.00 by the Akim Oda Magistrate Court.
She would pay the fine to compensate the complainant Madam Constance Brakoa or in default go to prison for one month.
Police Chief Inspector Appiakorang told the court presided over by Mr Albert Owusu Annor that Madam Brakoa is a trader at Akim Awisa, while Agyepomaa a wakye seller at Akim Asewase near Awisa in the Birim South District.
She stated that on April 11, 2012 Madam Brakoa sold a brassier worth GHc4.00 to Agyepomaa and she paid GHc2.00.
According to the prosecutor, on April 30, Madam Brakoa called at Asewase to collect her remaining GHc2.00 from the convict but a misunderstanding ensued between them during which Agyepomaa hit the mouth of the complainant with her fist.
