POTAG Kumasi not satisfied with agreement over delayed migration

POTAG members at the Kumasi Polytechnic are not satisfied with an agreement reached between the National Executives of the Association and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission over their migration onto the single spine salary structure.

The local unions in Kumasi and Takoradi had threatened to strike if they did not receive their first salary under the single spine by end of May.

But following a meeting on Monday, the General Secretary of the Polytechnic Teachers Association of Ghana acknowledged the inability of the Commission to complete the migration by the end of month.

This has however not gone down well with the local union at the Kumasi Polytechnic.

“We're not satisfied with the situation because we've not had any guarantee; we've not had any assurance that by the end of May we are goig to receive our first single spine salary… if by May ending they'll not be able to make it, we'd like to be told in definite terms when they'll pay”, demanded Edmond Oppong Peprah, K-Poly POTAG Chairman.

Mr. Oppong Peprah says the local union will be meeting over the matter.
