Maame Joyce Owusu Amankwah of Apostolic Church, Thornton heath branch, UK, has advised the public especially the un married ones to take caution in selecting their life partners.
She noted that even though first impression is very important, people must be careful on deciding on whom they want to spend their life with since first impression can be very deceitful and can ruin marriages.
Adding that, the car, house and physical appearance does not count much when selecting a partner because it be may just to impress lady on the first date. She advised individuals to pray over their proposals to know if it is God's will before admitting it.
She said it is very important for individuals to marry because God initiated marriage for couples to reproduce. Continuing that, marriage is not the ultimate in life and also not compulsory for every person.
Maame Joyce made these remarks on last Monday's on Akwantuo Mu Nsem talk show with Osei Frimpong also noted as Amansan Boafo on radio Focus when the presenter had a discussion as to if “Marriage is the ultimate in life”
Maame Joyce disclosed that a Christian who refuses to get married has to marry and relate with God as Paul did in the bible. The fellow must not fornicate but rather lead a holy life to please God.
She expressed worry in the fact that pressures from the world keep pushing people to settle down even if they are not ready or find the right partner, saying that most people get tensed-up when they realized that their peer have settled down when they are not.
Mrs Amankwah demonstrated concern over the issue of foreign culture which is not helping African marriages especially in the western world. Citing example that our forefathers did not know God that much but their marriages lasted because they listened to advised and submitted to their husbands.
Pastor Isaac Nana Adjei Kusi of Christ Preachers Church also added that everybody has some qualities he experts from his partner. Saying some of these qualities are love, care, understanding and among others.
“Every marriage that lucks its qualities begin to scramble and this happen when the partner refuses to impress the other after winning them” Pastor Adjei noted.
Quoting from the bible, he stated that “Paul says he wishes everyman does as he did because marriage has got its rules that man has follow”.
Maame Georgina. Popularly known Sua Twi Kasa also advised the general public to enjoy their marriages no matter the circumstance because marriage is for better or for worse.
Topic for next week will be the SITUATION AT OUR PORTS. Tune in on Monday from 11am-1pm UK time and contribute.
