The Chairperson and Leader of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Ms Samia Yaba Nkrumah, has visited patients on admission at the ‘Chenard A’ Female Ward at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital to mark Easter.

She was accompanied by the Third National Vice-Chairman, Mr K. Oteng-Anane, and the Director of Communications, Nii Armah Akomfrah.

The CPP Leader spent time at the bedside of each of the 25 female patient and wished her to get well soon”.

Ms Nkrumah thanked the nurses, porters and security men for the wonderful work and service they rendered within Ghana Health Service.

The CPP team was shown around the ward by the principal nursing officer.

In discussions with members of the public after the visit, the Ms Nkrumah reminded all about Jesus’ compassion for all and said that should lead to a new world full of hope and empowerment.

She said Easter should remind us that despite the challenges and hardships we faced as individuals and our own human weaknesses, there was hope for a new day.

It should remind us that all was not lost and that with faith, we could claim a brighter tomorrow, she added.

“The great Easter message of hope should make us confident that in God’s goodness and love we can triumph. The spiritual lessons offered by the resurrection of Jesus Christ should give our lives meaning and direction and the opportunity to start over and live better lives, no matter what our present difficulties and circumstances.

“As a people, we must look to the future with renewed anticipation of good things to come. Our spirit must rise in confidence that the future will present opportunities for a better life for all.

“Today, the exploited teachers and nurses, single parents, the homeless, the overworked and underpaid people of our country must know that there is hope and with this they can face the challenges of life,” she said.
