The Polytechnic Teachers Association of Ghana (POTAG) has reached an agreement with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission over migration onto the single spine salary structure.
According to the deal, POTAG members will not receive their first salary under the single spine in May. The salaries will delay because of the migration. The polytechnic teachers had threatened another strike this month over the delay in their migration, but information reaching Joy FM has it that the impasse has been resolved in a meeting held, Monday.
General Secretary of POTAG, Oswald Atinga in interview with Joy FM urged all its members to be calmed adding that the situation is under control.
He further added that the meeting with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission has been successful and members will be migrated unto the SSSS as they have called for.
Last week, the Takoradi Poly branch of POTAG threatened to abandon the lecture halls if the FWSC does not migrate them unto SSSS this month.
