Don't Buy NDC Propaganda – Akufo-Addo Tell Zongos

NANA AKUFO-ADDO and his running mate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, have been spending time in the Muslim communities in the towns they have visited so far in the Eastern Region, assuring them that NPP is the party that has the wellbeing of the Zongo communities at heart.
He said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had all this time been using the Zongo people for its propaganda and did not really care about them.
According to him, they had information that after he went to the Northern Region recently to introduce his running mate to the people of the north and were given momentous welcome, the NDC government went behind them and gave brand new vehicles to some of the chiefs they visited, which clearly showed that NDC had an erroneous mentality that it could easily have its way in the Zongo communities to achieve its political goal.
'I really think this is very wrong because having seen that they have failed the people of the Zongos, they want to show certain magnanimity to leaders of the Zongos,' he pointed out, stressing that these were all pretentious on the part of the NDC.
Nana Akufo-Addo told the Zongo communities that the parent party of NPP was founded by the people of the north and that whatever the party did, it had the people of the north on its mind.
'We have consistently shown we are the party which cares about the northern people. Prof Adu Boahen, President Kufuor and I have all had our running mate coming from the north and being Muslims. This shows that in everything that we do, we give priority to our Muslim brothers,' he noted.
He therefore called on them to vote the ticket of Akufo-Addo/Bawumia to power so that proper policies that would benefit Muslims could be put in place.
Dr Bawumia, for his part, said the NPP was prepared to promote the interests of Muslims, saying that a special fund would be created to promote development in inner cities like the Zongos.
He said the NDC government had been ruling with lies and propaganda and that was very dangerous for the growth and development of the country.
'Do not buy into the propaganda of the NDC,' he told them.
Dr Bawumia took the opportunity to pray with his Muslim brothers at New Tafo Zongo where they were enthusiastically received.
