Johnny's Food and Meat Complex, an ultra-modern one-stop shop for agricultural produce, is expected to open to serve the good people of Ghana.

The complex, located at Social Welfare area in Accra, comprises a cold store and warehouse for storage and mini market that will serve residents in Accra, Madina, Tema, among others.

In an interview with BUSINESS GUIDE, Ohene Agyekum, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Johnny's Food & Meat Complex, said considering the hardship that farmers face after harvesting their products, he decided to execute the project to help solve such problems.

Mr. Agyekum said the project would employ over 300 Ghanaians at the initial stage and would be increased to 500.

He noted that the time has come for Ghanaians to buy meat and other food items from modern and hygienic places to forestall the onset of diseases.

Touching on the abattoir department, he said it would be the first of its kind in the country, as it would have international specification.

'We are going to have a kraal and pen to keep the animals that will be brought from the hinterlands,' he said.

Mr. Agyekum revealed that the abattoir is equipped with sophisticated modern facilities to ensure high quality control standards.

'The department would be handling slaughtering, dressing, beef bone in, beef liver, beef burger, etc,' he noted. We are going to deal with the farmers directly and in a way that will let them have the right prices for their produce,' he stressed.

Mr. Agyekum, the son of a farmer, stated clearly that the complex would be operated effectively to stand the test of time.
