Special Court for Sierra Leone / Media accreditation for Charles Taylor sentencing

THE HAGUE, Netherland, May 7, 2012/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- Media accreditation is required for coverage of the Charles Taylor Sentencing hearing and the handing down of the sentence in the coming weeks.

The proceedings are scheduled as follows:

Wednesday 16 May 2012 at 09:30 (The Hague time) – Sentencing Hearing

- Prosecution oral submissions on sentencing – 1 hour

- Defence oral submissions on sentencing – 1 hour

- Charles Taylor's address to the court – 30 minutes

Wednesday 30 May 2012 at 11:00 (The Hague time) – sentencing judgment by the Trial Chamber.

Note: The delivery of the sentencing judgment might last for less than an hour.
