Ho, May 05, GNA - Alhaji Danjumah Hamza, Volta Regional Chief Imam on Friday stated the resolve of zongo communities in the region to ensure peace at the December polls.
“For us here, we are one, irrespective of different political affiliations. We are always preaching peace to ourselves and I know we are for peace in the December elections,” he said.
Alhaji Hamza said this when Mr Henry Ford Kamel, Volta Regional Minister made a working visit to the Ho Central Zongo.
He said tolerance is the watchword for many successful countries and urged political parties and other stakeholders in the forthcoming elections to learn to tolerate each other.
Alhaji Hamza reiterated the call on politicians to avoid indecent language and be law abiding and commended the Ho Municipal Assembly for championing development projects in the zongos
He pledged the readiness of the people in those communities to support and maintain social amenities available to them.
Mr Isaac Kodobisah, Ho Municipal Chief Executive commended people in the zongos for co-existing peacefully with different ethnic groups among them.
He assured that all projects started by the government in the Zongos would be completed on schedule.
Mr Kamel was happy that the Zongo communities were appreciative of government's projects and their high interest in formal education and assured that government would do more to secure comfortable living conditions in the Zongos.
