A suspected armed robber allegedly killed his accomplice following a misunderstanding between them over the sharing of their booty.

The incident happened in broad daylight and people around could only look on as the suspect, identified only as Awudu, used a pair of scissors to stab his accomplice, who shouted in vain for help.

The deceased has been identified as Iddi Adramani, 36.

Adramani is said to have been stabbed several times on the neck, at the back and on the chest, leading to his death.

Awudu is on the run but the police have mounted a search for him, while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital pending autopsy.

A source at the Zongo Police Station in Kumasi told the Daily Graphic yesterday that Awudu and Adramani, who were related to each other, lived at Sabon Zongo in Kumasi.

After an alleged stealing expedition, they decided to share the booty (cash) at a secret place inside the Kumasi Central Market on Monday morning.

However, confusion broke out in the course of the sharing, as Awudu claimed his colleague wanted to cheat him.

According to the police, as the confusion raged on, Adramani took the chunk of the cash and started running away.

Awudu them picked a pair of scissors from a nearby shop and pursued his accomplice with it.

When he managed to catch up with Adramani, he allegedly stabbed him several times before taking to his heels.

The police said the bleeding Adramani attempted to run to the police station after being stabbed but he fell a few metres away from

the station and died.
The police sent the body to the morgue and began investigations into the matter

Meanwhile, pandemonium broke out at Dr Mensah, an area near the crime spot, about 8 p.m. on Tuesday when a group of suspected armed robbers attacked everyone on sight.

Eyewitnesses suspected the action was in protest against the killing of Adramani but the police said the robbers were not aware of the incident and could not, therefore, be linked to the killing of Adramani.

Some eyewitnesses who spoke to the Daily Graphic said about 8 p.m. on Tuesday, members of a gang wielding pistols allegedly attacked and robbed innocent people of their cash and mobile phones.
