The National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Tuesday, commended workers for their hard work in ensuring the socio-economic and political development of the country, in spite of the challenges being experienced.
“The NDC believes that your dedication, selflessness, and commitment to work has influenced the country's productivity, and sustained a serene labour environment.”
These were contained in a statement issued in Accra on the occasion of May Day.
It said we wish to salute Ghanaian workers on this Workers Day, adding that 'the NDC, as a Social Democratic party, shares in the aspirations of the Ghanaian worker. It is the resolve of the party to see to the qualitative improvement of all workers of this country.”
The statement said the sacrifices of the trade unions had been recognised by the NDC, and that “the party shall continue to stand for workers rights.'
It said, as allies, the NDC believed in collaboration, fair wages, and the respect for workers' human rights and dignity, and urged all Ghanaians to use the occasion to reflect on their commitment and contribution to the cause of labour in the development of the country. – GNA
