Ghanaians storm Glo world shops to activate lines

Accra, May 1, GNA -Thousands of Ghananians thronged the 25 Glo World shops in the country to activate their reserved lines, buy new SIM cards and generally make enquiries about the latest telecommunication company launched over the weekend.

At the Glo World shop located on Ring Road in Accra, enthusiastic subscribers were seen queuing up to be attended to by officials.

Speaking in an interview, a cross section of the subscribers expressed delight about the unique offerings of Glo Mobile, especially the “good day Ghana package” which gives subscribers free 20Gp worth of credits everyday for 100 days.

One of the subscribers, 26-year-old Maame Efua Agyeiwah, said she would like Glo Mobile to be number-one in Ghana because of the comprehensive support the company giving to the Black Stars, the country's national team.

Others are also calling on the management of Glo to review the seven days deadline for redeeming the numbers because of the current rush.

Other freebies on offer include one minute bonus for incoming calls from any network, sweet number that enables subscribers to call one special person for 2Gp, 100% bonus on recharge, free night calls to any Glo number and sundry value added services.

Glo Mobile Ghana, a subsidiary of Globacom Limited, launched its commercial operations last Sunday, promising to deliver unparallel services to Ghanaians across the voice and data packages.

The company said it would address the yawning gap in telecommunications services in the country by offering world-class innovative products and services, which would improve the way the people of Ghana lived and worked.

Glo operations in Ghana will receive a major boost from the Glo 1 international submarine cable, which landed in Accra in September 2009.
