TECNO, a leading mobile phone brand in the country, has been adjudged the ‘Mobile Phone of the Year’ at the second Ghana Telecom Awards (GTAs) held in Accra recently.

TECNO beat off competition from other notable brands such as Nokia, Samsung and Blackberry to win the award at the awards ceremony, an annual initiative by Mobile World aimed at recognising and rewarding innovations in the country’s telecommunications industry.

TECNO has since expressed appreciation to its clients who continue to use the TECNO brand of mobile phones, thereby making it popular across the country.

A press statement issued in Accra and copied to the Daily Graphic, said the company’s management also thanked the its dedicated workers for their immense show of dedication and support throughout the year.

The statement expressed confidence that the Phone of Year Award conferred on it will further spur the staff on to work harder, and to chalk more laurels.

The statement added that TECNO now hoped to be the preferred mobile phone option for consumers nation-wide.

Since its arrival in Ghana about five years ago, TECNO has spearheaded an enormous growth of local enterprise in the telecom sector, proving to be a useful provider of affordable handse to the mobile phone loving public.
