Kesseh (GAR), April 30, GNA – Mrs Comfort Cudjoe Ghansah, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Ada East has begun registering the Aged in the Constituency on the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Kasseh near Ada, Mrs Ghansah said between April and December this year, she would have registered a total of 2,000 old people at Ada to become beneficiaries of the NHIS.
Mrs Ghansah said the move to register the Aged for the NHIS with her own money, was to demonstrate to all Ada people that she would deliver as she promised when voted for as a Member of Parliament for Ada East, come December 2012.
The candidate, the first woman ever to get the privilege to contest the seat for election 2012, on NDC ticket, entreated the NHIS management team to endeavour to release the cards early, so that the beneficiaries could access free health care at the various medical facilities at the opportune time.
