The people of Nwineso No 1. in the Atwima Kwanwoma district have raised GH¢8,000 at an annual fund raising ceremony to help improve infrastructural facilities in the community, and improve on the quality of life of the people.

The fund would enable the people to tackle the construction of a lorry park and drainage system under the second phase of the development plan.

They have been able to provide street lights from proceeds of last year's Easter fund raising ceremony.

The Assembly Member for the community, Mr. K. A. Yeboah-Asare, who initiated the fund, urged all citizens of the community to contribute to the development of the town.

Mr. Yeboah-Asare, who is also the Presiding Member of the District Assembly, called on all assembly members in the district to initiate programmes to speed up the development of their electoral areas to complement the efforts of the government.

According to him, the Assembly could not rely solely on the District Assembly Common Fund to fund all programmes and projects

He asked the people of Nwineso and the 33 communities in the entire Atwima Kwanwoma to come together as a people, and forge ahead for the development of the of the Atwima Kwanwoma District, since the resources of the district assembly were limited.

Mr. Yeboah-Asare, who is an Architect and Managing Partner of Avangarde Design Services, a firm of Architects, Engineers and Project Management Consultants, urged the people of Nwineso to bury their political differences, since democracy was about development.

The Member of Parliament for the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency, Dr. Kwadwo Appiah Kubi, contributed GH¢200 in support of the programme, and commended the people for responding positively to the opening of a new chapter as far as development was concerned.

In attendance was the District Chief Executive, Tony Agyemang Nyame, and Mr. Kofi Amankwa Manu, NPP parliamentary aspirant.
