Deputy National Chief Imam asks Ghanaians to protect democratic credentials

Kumasi, April 29, GNA – The Deputy National Chief Imam of the Ghana Muslim Mission, Dr Sheikh Amen Bonsu has appealed to all peace loving Ghanaians to avoid divisive behaviours that are likely to destroy the nation's enviable multi-party democracy credentials.

He said events that are unfolding towards the impending general poll are clear indications that the country's democracy is fragile.

Speaking at a business forum organised by the Muslim Professionals' Association in Kumasi, he asked Muslims to pray fervently to God to calm the hearts of politicians before they speak out.

He said God's hands are on Ghanaians and is watching to punish those who are determined to create confusion and anarchy.

He appealed to the young graduates and professionals to be wary of self-seeking politicians who are out there to use them to achieve their ambitions.

Dr Sheikh Amen Bonsu who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Amen Scientific Herbal Hospital advised politicians to observe all the rules and regulating relating to the elections.

“You should be honest, faithful, very religious, and be prepared to take risks if you want to be successful entrepreneurs,” he told the graduates.

Professor Dr A.O.Abbey, an Economist advised the participants to take advantage of the economy environment to grow their business.

He advised them to avoid extreme and ostentatious living and adopt good saving habits.
