
Cape Coast, April 25, GNA – A Cape Coast Magistrate Court on Wednesday remanded 75-year old Kofi Foofie and his accomplice Kwabena Kotonie into prison custody for allegedly killing Matthew Kofi Osei with a double barrelled gun at Assin Fosu .
Their pleas were not taken and they would reappear on Wednesday May 16.
Chief Inspector Sarfo Khanin told the court presided over by Mr Kwame Ohemeng-Mensah, that on March 21, the Police at Assin Fosu had information that one Osei had been shot dead at “New Habitat”, a suburb of Assin Fosu.
He said the police were immediately deployed to the scene and after some investigations the two accused arrested.
Chief Inspector Sarfo said during interrogations Foffie led the police to a bush where they had hidden the gun used in the crime and it was subsequently seized by the police.
He prayed the court to remand the accused persons into prison custody to enable them complete their investigations.
The case has been adjourned to May 16 to enable the police to send the docket to the Attorney Generals department for advice.
