The opposition New Patriotic Party's parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, Emmanuel Agyarko has challenged President Mills to show leadership because the political tension in the country is rising.
According to him, the need for leadership at this point is crucial to help ease the tension which 'has a direct bearing on the economy.'
Speaking on Minority Caucus , a political talk show on Joy News channel on Multi TV, Mr. Agyarko indicated that Ghana is at the crossroads hence the person to whom Ghanaians have entrusted the country's destiny must rise up to the occasion and show leadership.
'What shall it profit all of us if we gain political power for the next four years and there's no economy' he queried.
Mr. Agyarko noted that 'if you're a father in the house and you have two children who are fighting, it comes to a point where who has done wrong and who has done right is immaterial. The critical issue is to stop the fight'.
He reckoned that if nothing was done to abate the political tension, the already weakened cedi will continue to suffer.
'I postulate that we must not let the politics of this country make the economic situation of the ordinary people worse' he stressed.
