ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia, April 23, 2012/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- Journalists are invited to attend the opening session of the 319th Peace and Security Council (PSC) Meeting at Ministerial Level, on Tuesday, 24 April 2012, at 09:30 am. The PSC's session will be followed by a press conference at 7:00 pm, in the Plenary Hall of the African Union (AU) Headquarters, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The PSC has been convened at ministerial level in order to consider the situations in Guinea Bissau and Mali as well as the situation between Sudan and South Sudan.
The PSC will be attended by the fifteen PSC Members, ECOWAS, IGAD, neighboring countries to Mali, Arab League, OIC, OIF, EU, UN Security Council Members and the African non-permanent members of the UN Security Council, and partners.
The Press Conference will be addressed by Ambassador Ramtane Lamamra, AU Commissioner for Peace and Security and the Chairperson of the PSC for the month of April, the Republic of Angola.
