President John Evans Atta Mills leaves Accra for the United States today, where he will be the special guest at a forum being hosted by the International Conservation Caucus Foundation (ICCF), a statement from the presidency and signed by Koku Anyidoho, Head of Communications said.

This is the president's fourth visit to the US within the last four months.

The event, which is being held in Washington, is the most important gathering of conservationists from the corporate, NGO, and government communities to promote strong governmental leadership in the sound management of the world's natural resources.

The over 500 invited guests will include other heads of state, members of President Obama's Cabinet, members of the US Congress, world business leaders and prominent leaders from the international NGO community.

President Atta Mills' invitation is because of his academic standing on global issues, especially during the period when he was a visiting scholar at the University of British Columbia's (UBC) Liu Institute for Global Issues, the statement said.

President Atta Mills will also be in New York to meet with the Business Council For International Understanding (BCIU).

President Atta Mills is scheduled to return to Accra on Saturday, April 28, 2012.
