Bole-Bamboi MP donates Ambulance to Bamboi Hospital

Bamboi (N/R), April 17, GNA – Mr J. A. Saka, Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi Constituency, has donated an ambulance to the people of Bamboi and its surrounding communities.

The people of the Mo North community in the Bole District had been facing difficulties in reaching health facilities as the area is remotely located with bad roads and the people in the communities have to depend on motorbikes and donkey carts to transport the sick to Bamboi for medical attention.

Mr Saka said those challenges and the conditions under which the people lived had touched him to donate the ambulance to them as part of his social obligation to the society.

He said even though the ambulance was not a panacea to the health challenges of the people many of whom are farmers, it would help improve the transportation needs of the sick.

The Member of Parliament said government had provided some Community-Based Health Planning and Service (CHPS) Compounds to the communities to enable them have access to health care delivery.

He said he was aware of the existing inadequate and unreliable potable water facilities and the bad roads in the area and gave the assurance that government would give due attention to addressing them.

Mr Saka also donated computers, streetlight equipment and roofing sheets to the Bamboi community which together with the ambulance cost him GH¢42,000.

Nana Buah, a member of the Mo Traditional Area, appealed to government to compensate farmers whose farmlands and property were destroyed due to the construction of the Bui Dam.

Alhaji Sampson Abudu, Bole District Chief Executive, warned small scale miners to stop mining in rivers especially the Black Volta and warned illegal chainsaw operators to stop their activities else they would be dealt with.

He appealed to traditional rulers to be wary of the activities of Fulani herdsmen and their cattle on the environment and agriculture production in the district.
