The State has appealed against the acquittal of a pastor who was convicted of incest with his 10-year-old daughter.
Prophet Kofi Yirenkyi, also known as Jesus One Touch, was sentenced to a ten-year jail term but had his sentence overturned by an Accra High Court late last month.
However, State prosecutors have prayed the Appeals Court to quash the acquittal and discharge of Nana Kofi Yirenkyi, claiming the High Court's reason that the trial judge erred in relying solely on the evidence of the victim was wrong and unsupported by an evidence or authority.
In the notice of appeal filed Friday the State said the court must set aside the judgment insisting it was unreasonable.
The Court of Appeal is yet to fix a date to hear the notice of appeal.
