MMDAs IN VOLTA REGION RECEIVE THEIR SHARE OF NEW ZOOMLION TRUCKS

Zoomlion Ghana Limited, in its quest to intensify efforts aimed at tackling the numerous sanitation challenges facing the nation and to attain its vision of being champion of clean, green and healthy communities by the year 2015, has presented 18 new waste management trucks as additional logistical support to the MMDA's in the Volta Region to help supplement the work of the trucks that are already in existence and enhance the rate of collection, haulage and disposal.

At the short presentation ceremony held at the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, the Volta Regional Manager for Zoomlion said that, the venture was in line with the fact that Zoomlion has come to revolutionize waste management in this country and thus implored all citizens to acquire good sanitary practices to help eliminate waste in the region. He also used the platform to appeal to government not to relent on its efforts to assist Zoomlion to efficiently and effectively manage waste in the country.

Receiving the keys to the trucks, the Deputy Volta Regional Minister Hon. Ametepe said it was gratifying to note that the trucks had come at an opportune time to help curb the waste menace in the region. He charged the various MMDCE's in the regions to roll out effective programmes that will help maximize the utilization of the trucks to ensure zero tolerance of waste in Volta Region.

Hon. Ametepe used the plat form to announce the month of April as an annual pre-flood clean up exercise in the Volta to region and called on all stakeholders in the waste management industry and all agencies who have a responsibility of ensuring clean and healthy environment to join hands with Zoomlion to help make Ho a better Region rid of filth.
