Easter is a special time of the year. It coincides beautifully with change engineered by nature. In some countries, this is the time flowers begin to bloom again, trees sprout green leaves as spring re-appears. In Ghana, this is the time of change as the dry weather says goodbye and we welcome showers of rain.
Easter is when the world becomes Awake!
The sacrifice of the only Son of God so that we can live should sober all men and women, especially politicians. That it took one of the Son of Man's own apostles Judas Iscariot to betray Him and give Him up to His enemies should be a lesson to all. This year, an election year, let us not betray our country by engaging in violent, insulting behavior.
Politics can be a means to a very, very positive end. This as good a time as any to show that we can blossom anew and prove that we are a free, tolerant people.
So this Easter, let us give glory to God by working for a new beginning and the change we need. Let this be an awakening that is truly unprecedented. Ghana needs a fresh new start and incorruptible leadership. We cannot continue with our old habits and making the same choices.
Happy Easter! Awake Ghana!
