The Techiman Municipal Assembly is set to regulate the activities of drinking bars and spots within the municipality.
They would have to close at a specified time and reduce drastically the level of noise they make.
Recently, noise making and the involvement of minors in immoral activities at some of these places has raised concern among some residents who have severally pushed for some kind of action to curb the situation.
This issue came up last Thursday as part of recommendations presented to the Techiman municipal Assembly by the executive committee when the Assembly had its first quarterly meeting of this year.
In his sessional address, the municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alex Kyeremeh mentioned projects the Assembly had undertaken this year, and added that some of these projects are unprecedented in the history of Techiman.
Some of these projects include the commencement of water projects for Nkwaeso, Twimia Nkwanta and Koase, the construction of boreholes for seventy –seven (77) communities, the construction of seven hundred (700) office furniture for basic schools in the municipality, evacuation of about 3,956tons of refuse.
He warned people trying to disrupt the ongoing Biometric voters' registration exercise to refrain from it, adding strongly, that the sanctity of the registration exercise will be assured.
Some of the Assembly men sought to find out if they were going to pay for motorbikes that were recently given to them. The municipal Chief Executive assured them that the bikes were given to them free of charge as part of government's quest to deepen decentralization and grassroots participation in governance.
