NO POSITIVE DEFIANCE

NO POSITIVE DEFIANCE
30.03.2012 LISTEN

It was great news to hear that certain men of God have got their butts up and are interceding for the country not to plunge into chaos before, during and after the December general elections.

For it is said that a country that does not enjoy peace and development, does not have men of God who intercede for that country therefore the hand of God not upon that country opening the gates wide for all sorts of destruction to rock it.

That was why such pastors and reverend ministers took it upon themselves to seek the presence of the lord over the upcoming general election which has already started generating tension in system.

Even in the biblical story of the migration of Israelites from Egypt to the present day Holy Land, Moses did not just lead the people to defy Pharaoh. He first interceded for the people and God gave him the instruction to lead the people migrating from Egypt.

This great leader told Pharaoh to let the people go as said the lord but he refused to let the people go until the final order of positive defiance was issued by God that saw them passing through the departed red sea to the Promised Land.

Again, on a dry land, after passing through the red sea, the people were worrying Moses to send them back to Egypt. He went onto Mount Sinai to intercede on their behalf and God gave him the Ten Commandments to be given to his people to abide by it.

As we learn from the biblical story of Moses and migration of the Israelites from Egypt to the Promise land, he did not just intercede for the people when they were in slavery in Egypt.

But also confronted Pharaoh and demanded for the release of the Israelites in other words freeing them from bondage, slavery and chastisement, hunger, sickness, lack of development and many other things.

Therefore our ministers of God have to be bold enough to confront the president and his ministers in government to tackle the corruption that has almost totally consumed the country.

They have to be bold and draw the president's attention to poor conditions of the road networks which is causing unwanted fatal accidents almost everyday claiming precious lives.

Why all these fears of possible chaos before, during and after the general elections?

The reason could be that the ordinary Ghanaian voter is fed up with the “GANGANTUAN” corruption going on uncheck,

The energy crisis, high cost of living, expensive inefficient and accessible health care, expensive education, housing, transportation and utility deliveries, rising rate of unemployment, crime, ritual murders, drug trafficking and selective justice as well as the high incidence of official corruption and discrimination is pricking their conscience therefore mounting opposition against party in power functionaries which has started recording some casualties.

Electoral activities before, during and after selection of president and parliamentarians in a general polls are not suppose to be chaotic. Is supposed to be peaceful with both followers of various parties following due processes and at the end accept the results in good faith.

But if just at the beginning of the whole process suppose followers of a particular party have been engaging in fisticuffs then the alarm bells should be sound for all to get our butts up and pray against possible chaos.

Ghana is a God given land full of blessings with its citizenry hating the spilling of blood therefore not surprise that these great men of God are taking it upon themselves to pray for its protection.

However, it should also be made clear to these people that God will never protect the state that its leaders are wayward misleading his people to commit various sins against him.

Therefore whiles interceding for the country, it will be appropriate for our ministers of God to also draw the president's attention to correct certain acts or omissions by his government which could spark chaos to avoid possible disturbances in the future.
