
The Ministers and Spouses Association of the Lord's Pentecostal Church International (TLPC), on Saturday donated detergents, sanitary pad, bags of rice, and crates of eggs valued at GH1, 000 cedis to the Nsawam medium female prison.
Speaking at the ceremony at Nsawam to hand over the items to the prison, Reverend Daniel Quarshie, Chairman of the association, said the association and church will continue to meet the needs of people as to when it is called to do since it forms part of their objectives.
He said every 24th March; the church uses the opportunity to donate to society as its social responsibilities to show love and care to the less privileged.
Rev Quarshie said the church will not concentrate on the spiritual needs of society alone but also material and physical needs, which is needed for its entire well-being.
The ceremony witnessed executives and members of the association interacting with the inmates by way of counseling to cheer them up.
He advised that the items be used to the benefit all inmates.
Reverend Eric Otoo, General Secretary of the church Rev Eric Otoo said the church will continue to offer help to the needy and under –privileged in society in fulfillment of the gospel.
He said the church will not concentrate on the spiritual needs of society alone but also material and physical needs, which is needed for its entire well-being.
Chief Superintendent of Prison (CSP) Margaret Dangah, who received the items on behalf of the inmates, thanked the church for the kind gesture and called on other public spirited individuals and organizations to emulate the good example.
A short church service was held after the donation to encourage the inmates and the need to develop their spiritual lives.
