Suspended Deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Kofi Adams is threatening a legal showdown against the party leadership.

Speaking on Newsfile, a Multimedia Group current affairs programme, Kofi Adams said aside being denied a fair hearing, he has not been communicated to officially about the party's decision to suspend him.

According to him, he is seeking legal advice on what next line of actions to take.

“Decision is petty. It is unfair to use my concerns against the presidential primaries to suspend me”, he said.

But Deputy Information Minister, James Agyenim-Boateng who was also on the show, defended the party's decision, arguing several options were opened for one to seek redress after the Sunyani Congress.

The Managing Editor of the Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul-Malik Kwaku Baako also raised procedural issues with the entire decision.

A former Presidential Press Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong who was on the show described the suspension as a “vindictive and intolerant posture” on the part of the ruling party.
