JJ's PLOT AGAINST NDC THICKENS - Vows No Second Term for MillsMahama
19.03.2012 LISTEN

When The Al-Hajj revealed recently that former President Jerry John Rawlings and wife Nana Konadu never wanted Mills to be President in the first place, many were the doubting Thomases who called us demented bunch. Now the plot is thickening by every day and every hour from the former first couple and their lackeys to do President Mills in and scuttled his re-election bid in December this year.

Incontrovertible but hard core evidence in the possession of The Al-Hajj reveals that the NDC founder Jerry Rawlings and wife Nana Konadu intend to make sure the Mills/Mahama ticket remains a 'one term' government using what they termed; 'gradual mobilization of negative public sentiments' against the president and his vice to derail the focus of the December election messages and campaign.

“The strategy of the Rawlingses according to the plan is to neutralize the effects of NDC's rallies and campaign by coming out with abrasive and provocative messages to coincide with the good messages the party intends to churn out in their programs and gatherings,” this paper's intelligence reveals.

What happened last week was a testament to the plot which started some fifteen months back in the run up to the resignation of the former first lady from her post as the Vice-Chairperson of the NDC.

The duo recently did not only use lame excuse to boycott the maiden regional rally of the party at Mantse Agbonaa but also sort to cast a slur on the whole event.

It fit into the said strategy from the camp of the former President Rawlings to get the media and public opinion divided on the good messages coming out from the mammoth rally.

Interestingly but sadly, the intelligence reveals that some serving senior members of the Mills administration are either willing accessories to this diabolical stratagem or are aware, but chose to remain nonchalant.

The identities of these 'traitors' in the mean time is being withheld by The Al-Hajj. However, at the appropriate time we shall make a full disclosure of who these people are.

In their frantic efforts to humiliate Mills as the only President to be challenged mid-term in his tenure by his own party, Nana Konadu, supported by hubby Rawlings on the 13th April 2011, tendered in her resignation from the party claiming “this will enable me (to) respond to numerous calls on me to contest the flag-bearership of the NDC when nominations are opened.”

Nana Konadu was later to tell Tema-based Adom FM that “my husband, the former President and founder of the party, is solidly behind me. There's no way I would start doing something without thinking it through with him.”

“He advises and directs me before taking any decision. He would have to agree before I can hit my chest and say I'm going to do something. Before he also gives me that assurance, it would be after he has consulted with some party members and elders who may not be known,” she stated in an interview with Adom FM.

Again, prior to the Sunyani Congress in July, 2011, and from nowhere, Mr. Herbert Mensah, a confidante of the Rawlingses, as part of the plot put into the public domain a totally false information of being in possession of security tapes which revealed that Mills' campaign team planned spending GHS90 million in order to win the flag bearer ship race of the NDC.

Late last year, Jerry John Rawlings whiles addressing students outside the Great Hall of the University of Ghana after he uncharacteristically graced the lunch of President Kufuor's Foundation, daringly told the whole world that Ghana under President Mills is equal to purgatory

“Nobody wants to be in purgatory, when we left the Hell of the other regime we left it with the hope that we will go to Heaven but I am afraid the situation is quite tough, it is difficult and I know the difficulty that students face.

“I can only say that don't give up hope, hold tight and don't lose your standards, sooner or later we are going to find our way out of this demise. It is unfortunate, a few attempts were made but the greedy selfish ones would not let go but it is not going to go on forever”, he told the cheering students, mainly NPP supporters.

And just two weeks ago, the Communications Director of Friends of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings (FONKAR) and close aide of the Rawlingses, Mr. Ernest Owusu Bempah alleged that wife of President Mills, Dr. Ernestina Naadu Mills was a beneficiary of $5m bribe from troubled businessman, Mr. Alfred Woyome's controversial judgment debt payment.

The same Owusu Bempah had earlier told the world that President John Mills, at a meeting with some party officials at the Peduase Lodge said he does not need the backing of his mentor and former boss, ex-President Jerry John Rawlings and Wife Konadu to win the 2012 elections.

And just last Saturday, whiles the NDC was holding its maiden rally since winning power in 2008, Nana Konadu who together with hubby, Rawlings boycotted the event told students of Akuafo Hall Ladies Wing of the University of Ghana, that President Mills rigged the NDC primaries at Sunyani to emerge winner.

“Even though we went to Sunyani, I didn't want to break up the party so there are a lot of things I kept quiet about.

“People who were not delegates were voting as delegates and I know all the delegates. More than a thousand or something were not delegates. They voted so I let it be because if I want to deal with it means I should take the whole bunch to court.

“But I just decided no, it's not worth it. Let them steal it. If that makes them happy, let them steal it.

“But in my heart of hearts I feel sorry for the party I belong to because it was like cracking the party in the middle and for it was sad,” Konadu stated.

All these and many more to come are part of a carefully thought-out campaign to smear Mills as corrupt, heartless and unfit to be President in fulfillment of the wider agenda of 'no second term for Mills', developed way-back, before he even won power in 2008.

The New Patriotic Party's (NPP's) Nana Akufo Addo's chances of becoming president in January 2013 will be further boosted should the Rawlingses continue to carry through their plot.

Watch out for mind boggling revelations including why the Rawlingses vigorously opted for Betty Mould Iddrisu as running mate to then candidate Mills in 2008, and those high-ups in NDC who are said to be agents of American spy agency, the CIA.

Stay tuned.
